How to Bulk Add ID Cards
From time to time we get questions from our general customer base, the answers of which can benefit others with the same problem. We've had an interesting question come in for a solution to import photos into an Asure ID card software. The great news is Asure ID has this solution readily at hand...What you need before we start:
1. Asure ID 7 software installed on your computer
2. Consistent photo naming convention for your files, i.e. firstname.lastname.jpg (something easy to build from existing data).
3. Photos in a central location that is accessible locally or over a network.
4. CSV file that has a column named "photo" and the photo name in the data but not including the ".jpg" i.e. firstname.lastname
5. A Unique and hidden field in your Asure ID template called "Photo".
How to Add a Photo to your Design
So from here we will operate on the assumption you have already created your core design in Asure ID 7 and are now wanting to add the Photo to the design.
1. Start in "Card Design" section of Asure ID of your template.
2. Click on the "Photo" button on the top ribbon then click on the card where you want the photo to be (you can change size and position later)
3. The "Photo Properties" box will come up
4. Select the "Format type:" i.e. ".jpg"
5. Tick the box that says "Use a Folder Data Source"
6. Now to tell Asure ID where the photos will be, click "Browse" from the right
7. Navigate to where the photos are stored and click ok to select that location
8. Change the "Key Field" to the "Photo" field you had created earlier. (this field needs to be unique)
9. Click "OK" and Save Your project.
10. Now import your CSV file with the file names and Asure ID will do the rest.
